Support Scott & Family with End of Life Needs

My name is Erika Glancy and I am a cousin of Lynette Campbell through marriage. We have been connected over the years from early on in our marriages despite the geographic distance between us. Lynette has always amazed me with her resilience. I knew her through the birth of each of her children and the discovery of each of their autism diagnoses. I also have a son with autism, but multiply that times 4 (and all 5 of her children on the spectrum) and a husband who is on active duty and often deployed in the army and my heart was very heavy in thinking about what Lynette was carrying. Lynette and I stayed in touch and shared insights and therapies and dietary suggestions for our kiddos.

Fast forward to 2010 when we received the shocking news that the unthinkable had happened. Lynette's husband Tod was killed in a tragic car accident leaving her to care now for these 5 children entirely alone. Many states away at the time and with no GoFundMe options that we were aware of, we just watched and prayed and hoped better things were to come for Lynette and her family.

Thankfully they did when Scott and Lynette met in Arizona in May 2015. They married in June 2015 and moved to Washington in October 2016. We were so delighted for them!

Scott has 3 daughters, 3 sons and 1 granddaughter. Lynette's daughter and 4 sons call Scott "Dad." He holds a special place in their hearts as Lynette's 5 children have spent more direct time with Scott than their own father.

Scott stepped in and showed Lynette how much more life there was to live after Todd passed. Scott took on the responsibility of helping Lynette navigate the disability communities for her 4 sons with autism and shouldering the burdens she had carried solo for so many years without Tod.

Scott has been battling the effects of diabetes and congestive heart failure for several years. In reality, Scott did die during his open heart surgery in October 2018. Most recently, Scott has entered end stage renal failure and started dialysis in October 2022. Between then and January 2024, Scott had more than a dozen surgeries to help stabilize his health in preparation for a kidney transplant. During this time, Scott has participated in dialysis either daily in home or 3 times a week in center. It's been exhausting, to say the least.

Unfortunately, the toll of the combined medical conditions and treatments have degraded the health of Scott's heart to a critical point. Lynette has maintained her full-time employment with the occasional time off in support of the multiple surgeries, recoveries, doctor appointments, rehabilitation, etc. Up to this point, Scott has been the primary caregiver for Lynette’s son, Matt, who is disabled with autism and has multiple issues that affect his motor movements, speech and emotions. But due to Scott's declining health, Lynette will need to stay home to care for both Scott and Matt.

Besides replacing an income for now, future caretaking for Matt and the financial needs that come with medical care and end of life expenses, one of Scott’s final wishes would be to help Lynette finish restoring their ’89 jeep that they had hoped to do during his transplant recovery. Scott has been a mechanic most of his life and worked on cars for friends and family, this would mean a lot to him to be able to afford to do this.

Please know that every contribution and share of this donation page is SO appreciated and needed. Lynette will not be receiving any other financial support after Scott's passing from his social security or otherwise due to current custody agreements for his youngest son.

Thank you for your consideration and for any support you can lend to this gentle giant of a man and his family at this difficult time.
