My best friend Scottie has not been feeling well the past week. It is still unclear what the direct cause is but he has some kind of ulcer in his gums causing pain when he eats. So he was eating less. At the same time he began throwing up anything he ate, signaling some kind of digestion issue. I've taken him to the vet two times in a span of four days where he got blood work, fluids, anti nausea injection, and antibiotics, along with some other at home meds like pain killer and hunger stimulant. Yesterday (9/24) and the day before he stopped eating completely and has gotten extremely lethargic. He walks very slowly and plops down whenever he can. He can hardly get himself to drink water. He will hover over the water bowl, signaling he wants to drink, but it takes him a very long time to actually drink it, and sometimes he will just lay next to it.
My vet recommended that at this point I take him to the ER to be hospitalized so he can have around the clock care and be brought back to health, as well as figure out what's going on. I took him last night (9/25). He is currently there and it is likely that he will stay another night.

I am very scared and sad. Many of you know how much he means to me. I have had him for over 17 years now. My aunt gave him to me when I was in 8th grade. He has been the closest companion in my life and I love him so much. I don't want to lose him and I want to do what I can to help him get the care he needs. He is such a sweet guy and I can tell he is also sad and scared. Leaving him at the hospital was very heart wrenching for me especially but he also began meowing at me when I was leaving; and he hasn't meowed all week. I could hear how strained it was and the effort he put into it. He deserves all the care he can get and I want to find a way to afford this. He was in very good health before this week, very active and talkative as usual. Siamese cats can usually live into their 20s, so I am hoping he can be brought back to health and spend more years with him.

I have already spent over $1,000 on the two vet visits the last few days, and the hospitalization costs begin at $4,000. I got an estimate that it will probably be between $5,000-6,000, maybe more if more days are needed or if other issues are found. I don't make enough to cover all of this without going into debt. I would really love some help paying this off. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. I also hope you can share this with your friends and family... Thank you so much for your support, even if you can't donate, it still means so much to me and to Scottie especially. <3

Please keep Scottie in your thought and prayers and wish him a speedy recovery! <3
