Story

Hi, my name is Miaya. Scott Partain (also know as Swank) is my dad. For the ones who are unfamiliar with who Scott is, I would describe him as resilient, funny, diligent, and compassionate. He is the kind of person that always helps others in any way he can but never asks for help when he needs it. Sadly, my dad has endured more than most should. In his lifetime, he has suffered the loss of both of his parents, all of his brothers, and the mother of his children. No matter what he has remained hopeful but as time goes on, I witness him becoming defeated. Unfortunately, Scott was recently diagnosed with a very rare disease called leukocytoclastic vasculitis. He has had to see a dermatologist, a rheumatologist and travel frequently to Ann Arbor to be seen at University of Michigan. He will have to continue to due so. Looking ahead, he has countless doctor’s appointments and constant testing. Not only has he been in and out of the hospital for the past two months, but he is currently admitted in Bronson hospital dealing with fibrinoid necrosis. Even after everything, he’s still fighting. Due to this new diagnosis and how it’s affected his health, my dad has not been able to work. Scott is an incredibly hard worker and has been his whole life. He rarely ever takes a day off. Scott fully intends on returning to work once he’s doing better but we are unaware of when that will be at this time. This is where he needs your help. As you can imagine, the cost of living such as mortgage, groceries, gas, car, and other bills can pile up very quick. All of this together can become overwhelming and enormously stressful. Scott has endured enough hardships in his lifetime. He deserves to deal with this disease without the additional burden of financial stress on him. He deserves peace. As his daughter, I will always do everything I can to help him but due to his selflessness nature as a dad, he limits help from me. He wants me to focus on enrolling into school and not worry about him but I can’t not worry about him. I have to help him in any way I’m able. Therefore, I have started this go fund me in hopes that we can all come together and help ease the stress on Scott. It’s time we fight for him instead.
