Support Scott through Cancer treatment

Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I am fundraising for my dad, Scott.

On February 20th, 2025, our world changed when we learned that he has throat cancer. If you know him, you know he’s always been the one to bring laughter and joy to every room he walks into. Now, as he faces this tough battle, we want to make sure he has the support he needs every step of the way.

Starting April 2nd, 2025, he will undergo treatment at the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre in London, Ontario—receiving radiation five days a week for seven weeks, along with a chemotherapy session once during each of those weeks. Unfortunately, these treatments come with serious side effects, including a suppressed immune system, tooth loss, hearing loss, and painful burns on his neck and inside his throat/oral cavity.

Given his current living situation in Cambridge and the daily 1+ hour commute (one way) to the hospital, my dad may need to make the difficult decision to stay in London for the majority of his treatment. Being close to the hospital will ensure he receives the best possible care and is monitored closely by his medical team in case of an emergency.

The Cancer Centre has generously offered a discounted hotel stay Monday through Thursday at $36 per night, but weekends are not covered, leaving him with an out-of-pocket cost per weekend if he wants to stay. Your donations will also help cover any unexpected costs that may arise.
