For those who may not know, Scott was involved in a very serious car accident at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12th. He was on his way to work, only about a mile from home, when the crash occurred. The police told us he is lucky to be alive. While Scott is okay, he has a long road to recovery ahead. He suffered multiple injuries, including a broken right leg, a broken right arm, and fractures to his pelvis and several ribs. He has undergone three surgeries so far and now has rods, pins, screws, and plates to repair the damage. After surgery, he experienced a few complications that required him to be moved to the ICU.
Scott will not be able to put any weight on his right arm or leg for about six weeks. He will be wheelchair-bound and will need significant help at home. Thankfully, he is now stable enough to be in a regular hospital room, and once discharged, he will need to spend a few weeks in rehab before he is strong enough to return home. Even then, he will still need extensive daily support. The whole family is ready to have this man back home with us as we miss him so much. The house just isn’t the same without him.
Despite the pain he’s in, Scott continues to crack jokes and keep his spirits up, which is truly a testament to who he is. We are incredibly grateful he is still with us—none of us can imagine life without him. He is an amazing husband and a devoted father to his four children. Our family is doing the best we can during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate everyone who has reached out and offered help. Scott will be out of work for an unknown amount of time, with his recovery estimated at around nine months. His wife, Rosemary, is also currently out of work on disability due to her own injuries.
We are starting this GoFundMe for anyone who is able to support us. The funds will help with medical bills and assist our family throughout Scott’s long road to recovery. Thank you again to everyone who has helped or is willing to help. Your kindness means more than we can express.
