Our dear friend Scott Schramm has always been one half of an incredible duo with his husband Roderick, giving so much to our community through the FLoatarama Organization. Now, it is our turn to give back and help him as he faces a significant health challenge. In mid-December, Scott was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome and has been fighting hard every single day. He is currently in rehab and making incredible progress, but his inpatient rehab insurance coverage will end this Friday, February 20th, requiring him to be discharged home. After that, insurance will only cover minimal therapy—just two days a week. Any additional therapy will be self-pay, which significantly limits the frequency and intensity of the rehabilitation he truly needs. Right now, Scott is receiving therapy six days a week, and that intensity is what is driving his progress. We want to make sure that self-pay does not mean scaled-back recovery. This GoFundMe is to help cover intensive outpatient physical therapy sessions and the proper medical equipment that will allow Scott to continue progressing toward a full and strong recovery. The goal is simple: give him every opportunity to regain his strength, mobility, and independence, and get back to his passion of helping others. In true Scott and Roderick fashion, any leftover funds will go right back to FLoatarama to continue blessing others the way they always have. Please know that no amount is too small.
