Words from Melissa 25.05.26
It is with the deepest heartbreak that I share that my sweet husband, Scott Ginson, passed away peacefully yesterday and is now in heaven.

I was by his side holding him in his final moments, surrounding him with all the love in my heart. Watching someone you love fight so hard and still lose the battle is a pain beyond words, but I find comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and is finally at peace.

Scott was deeply loved by so many and leaves behind an enormous hole in our hearts that can never be filled. Please keep our family in your prayers as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss.

Forever loved. Forever missed. ❤️

Update on Scott 23.05.26

Melissa, along with Scott’s mom and brother, continue to stay by his side around the clock, surrounding him with love every minute of every day. These are incredibly difficult moments for the family, and they are holding each other up through the heartbreak and uncertainty.

Your prayers, kind words, and support mean more than can be expressed right now. Every message, thought, and prayer is being felt and deeply appreciated. Please continue to keep Scott, Melissa, Jacob, and the entire family in your hearts during this time.
P.S. Through everything happening, there was a beautiful moment of light — Scott was able to be there to celebrate Jacob’s 15th birthday. In a time filled with so much uncertainty, those moments together become even more meaningful and will forever be treasured.

Update:Update on Scott

Scott has now been moved into hospice care at the Chicopee WRHN Palliative Care unit in Kitchener.

This has been an incredibly difficult transition for him and his family, but they are thankful he is somewhere he can receive the care and comfort he needs right now. Scott has been sleeping a lot and spending most of his time resting.

If you would like to reach out to him, texting is best as he is not up to answering many phone calls at this time.

Please continue to keep Scott, as well as Melissa, Jacob, and their family in your thoughts, prayers, and good energy during this incredibly hard time.

My name is Crystal, and I have known Scott and Melissa since day one — truly since the beginning of their love story. They are the kind of couple you look at and just know they were meant to build a life together.
Today, I am asking for help for these two love birds and their beautiful son, Jacob.
Scott is now in the palliative care phase of his cancer journey. After major surgeries, countless hospital stays, nonstop appointments, procedures, and setbacks, the doctors have done everything they can. There are no more treatment options left. Right now, the focus is on comfort, love, and making the most of the time they have together.
Scott has fought this disease with incredible strength and courage. Even on the hardest days, he has shown up with heart and determination. But this battle has been relentless, and he has not been given a true moment to just breathe.
Just before his diagnosis, Scott unexpectedly lost his job of over 20 years. He was in the process of starting a new chapter — preparing to begin a new job and continue providing for his family — when he became sick. Since then, he has been unable to work, adding tremendous financial stress to an already devastating situation.
Scott isn’t just a husband. He is the heart of their home. He is a devoted father to his 14-year-old son, Jacob, who loves his dad beyond words. One of the most heartbreaking realities is that Scott won’t be here for the milestones ahead — graduations, learning to drive, life advice, future celebrations. The weight of that loss is impossible to put into words.
Anyone who knows Scott knows this: he would give you the shirt off his back. He has always worked hard, built strong friendships, and shown up for others without hesitation. Asking for help is not something that comes naturally to him — he has always been the one offering it.
But now, they need us.
The financial strain from the loss of his job and his illness has become overwhelming. At a time when Melissa and Jacob should only be focused on loving Scott and being present with him, they are also carrying the heavy burden of bills, household expenses, and medical and end-of-life costs.
Funds raised will help with:
• Mortgage/rent and utilities
• Groceries and daily living expenses
• Medical and end-of-life care costs
Any funds raised beyond immediate needs will be set aside for Jacob’s future — to support him through the milestones his dad so desperately wishes he could be here for.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Every prayer, message, and act of kindness makes a difference.
More than anything, your generosity will give this family peace — peace to sit together without financial fear, peace for Jacob to just be a son who needs his dad, and reassurance that he will be supported in the years ahead.
Thank you for standing with Scott, Melissa, and Jacob during the most painful chapter of their lives.
With love and gratitude,
Crystal
