Support Scott in Difficult Times
Donation protected
Please consider a donation for a friend to many, Scott Silverthorne. Many of you may not be aware of his recent health struggles. Over the last 5 months, Scott has had 5 surgeries in an attempt to save the sight in his right eye. Initially, a detached retina required emergency surgery. There have since been subsequent surgeries that have required lengthy recovery time. His doctor has put him in the 10% of patients who's eye rejects the reattachment. Scott has had long periods of time where he was unable to work due to his condition. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee his sight will be restored in his right eye, and sadly his left eye is showing early signs of the same deterioration.
Mentally, it has been difficult for Scott, as there is potential for him becoming legally blind. Scott is not seeking pity as a result of this page, for he is working when he can and is getting through this time with humor and dignity.
Currently, his medical bills and back rent have left him with a deficit of almost $15,000, with undoubtedly more debt to be accrued. All funds collected will be controlled by a third party: a Fairfax City Resident, Deb Smith. She will be directly managing all his payments.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated!
