Support Scott and Eli After Devastating Fire

Hello, my name is Brad Siedschlag and I want to help my brother, Scott.
Some years ago, Scott, a single Dad with a young boy, got a wonderful opportunity to buy an abandoned home in 29 Palms. At the time, he and his son, Eli, were living in a small cabin. Scott jumped at this chance to create a real home for himself and Eli. Over the years, Scott’s dedication and hard work eventually transformed this old abandoned desert home to a home filled with love, security, stability and shelter. Lots of space for Scott and Eli and their beloved dogs along the way and a garage of his own to keep his many tools he has used over the years for his work. Gatherings with family and friends were plenty and Eli got to grow up here and have his own large bedroom. It transformed into their true place to call HOME.
Then, just like that in the blink of an eye, it is all gone, burned to the ground from a devastating fire. Nothing left, no family photos, slides or mementos. All of their necessities, clothes, food, all of Scott’s tools, their laptop, all gone, everything. And with Scott’s income going towards making ends meet for himself, his son and working on the home which was a job in itself, he unfortunately could not afford any home insurance.
Losing possessions and mementos is one thing but losing the PLACE YOU CALL HOME is utterly shocking and debilitating to the psyche and the soul.
Eli was not home at the time and Scott was asleep and thank God for their dog waking Scott up! Scott got out of the fire barefoot, with just the clothes on back and his cell phone. He and the dog are ok.
Scott, soon to be 70 years old, will never fully recover from this devastation but with help from friends, family and most importantly, God, he can endeavor to build a life once more for himself and his son, Eli, who is only 16. If we could only imagine being Scott for a moment and wonder how much shock and despair he is going through presently. The worries that he is currently presented with, the immediate concerns to keep up an income for some financial stability without any of his tools, to take care of himself and his son moving forward, it is just A LOT for a person to endure. Scott is a kind and quiet man and has helped many who have crossed his path throughout his life. Now it is Scott’s turn for some help for which he would never ask for himself.
Scott still owns the property at least. Our hearts are breaking for Scott and Eli and our biggest hope and prayer is to help Scott get this monetary help in to afford something that he can put on his property and call home for he and Eli again. Something like a large used trailer? Something to start over again in, to heal in, something that they can eventually call home again.
