Support Scott Adams on His LVAD & Heart Transplant Journey

As a close friend of Scott Adams and his family, I am reaching out during one of the most challenging times they have ever faced. Scott is currently in the ICU, recovering from open-heart surgery for an LVAD (left ventricle assist device). This device will help his heart pump while he waits for a life-saving heart transplant.

After 7 years of battling heart failure, Scott had a cardiac event where his implanted defibrillator shocked him on October 11th, 2025. This led to a two week hospital stay and transfer to Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL to begin rigorous evaluations for the national UNOS heart transplant waitlist. Scott was approved for the transplant list just before going in on December 18th for a scheduled heart catheterization, which showed his numbers had declined significantly. He was brought to the ICU and has been there since, undergoing many tests and procedures in the past four weeks. He has relied on life supports including an Impella, a Swan-Ganz catheter, his pacemaker defibrillator, IV medications, and a team of specialized nurses and doctors. He most recently had his open-heart LVAD surgery on January 9th. All of this and the hope and prayers from family and friends are keeping him alive.

Each day brings both uncertainty and hope as he begins recovery from this surgery and learns about his new LVAD care. Scott is expected to remain hospitalized for at least two more weeks as he begins his recovery. The entire first year after LVAD surgery and heart transplant is especially demanding, requiring frequent hospital visits, ongoing monitoring, and constant follow-up care, meaning Scott will continue to spend much of his time at the hospital long after the surgery.

Scott’s wife, Lauren, has been by his side every step of the way, supporting him in the hospital daily. Because of this, she is unable to work during this time, creating a significant financial strain on the family for the foreseeable future as she becomes Scott’s primary caregiver.

Scott is a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His son Matthew, daughter Samantha who is expecting, son-in-law Santiago, and 16 month old granddaughter Charlie are rallying around him with hope and strength.

Funds raised will help cover living expenses, medical costs, and lost income while Scott undergoes his LVAD recovery and awaits a heart transplant.

Any donation—no matter the size—means more than words can express. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping Scott, Lauren, and their family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support during this critical time.

I will keep you updated with Scott’s progress through this difficult journey. God bless you.
