This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

I’m at the end of what I can do.

So I’m letting go and letting God.

❤️ After spending most of last year in pain, confused, unable to work, and uninsured, I spent the month of December dying in the hospital from an extremely rare heart failure. On New Year’s Day 2025 I had a risky, nine-hour open-heart surgery for a double-valve replacement. I almost died from the surgery alone and spent another month in a nursing home recovering and made it through somehow.

☢️ A few days before I went to the ER for my surprise heart failure, I had a biopsy showing an aggressive stage 3 prostate cancer that had metastasized to my lymph nodes (Gleason 9). After fixing my broken heart, I started ADT Antigen Deprivation Hormone Therapy and am halfway through 45 rounds of radiation treatments so hopefully I don’t die from cancer.

AND…I CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP FOLKS

I broke my right wrist last week. And my iPhone. I slipped on the wet sidewalk when I was taking my precious puppy girl Happy out for a walk. Thankfully I can drive left-handed and my Ubering days are over.

I lost almost everything.

I put my mom in a nursing home with dementia. My dad’s gone. I lost my home, all my savings, everything I owned except my little girl Happy and almost got my Jeep repossessed. A few dear friends have helped me as much as they can through the toughest times.

I haven’t lost hope.

I just keep going.

I’ve never felt more weak and helpless.

I’ve never been more full of joy and peace.

Medical Expenses

I was successful at not dying so far and now I gotta figure out how to pay for this staying alive thing. I’m already under a mountain of debt and I have many more doctor visits, MRIs, CT scans, cardio rehab and now wrist surgery to pay for.

Living Expenses

Food, gas, clothes, taking care of Happy, and general daily expenses to get my “normal" life stable again.

Work

Do you know of any opportunities that need someone like me? My real estate business is on hiatus. Long-term I’m taking this time to pivot and explore new opportunities with this new life I’ve been given. To help people grow and change.

Pray that I don’t give up

I’ve wanted to give up many times. I don’t know how. So I just keep going. One hour at a time. I know there’s a reason I’m still alive and I’m grateful for every moment.

Whatever the circumstances

I know what it is to be in need

And I know what it is to have plenty

I have learned the secret

Of being content in any and every situation

Whether well fed or hungry

Whether living in plenty or in want

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.
