Final Update on Scot

Today, at 11:54, our dearest friend Scot passed away peacefully. He was not alone in his final moments and was surrounded by love.

This is a profound loss for everyone who was blessed to know him. Scot was truly an incredible person, and he will be deeply missed. We will forever remember his calm demeanor, his warm and genuine smile, his patience, and his unwavering kindness. All of us learned so much from him, and we would not be where we are today without his guidance, support, and example.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who reached out, offered support, shared kind words, and showed love during this difficult time. Your compassion meant more than words can express and showed Scot’s family just how deeply loved and cherished he was by so many.

Thank you for honoring Scot and for holding his family close in your thoughts and hearts.

Update on Scot

With heavy hearts, we want to share that tomorrow is expected to be Scot’s final day on life support. Doctors have informed us that life support may be withdrawn tomorrow evening, likely after sunset. Because Scot is an organ donor, the medical team is coordinating with surgeons who are flying in and finalizing recipient arrangements.

The family is opening tomorrow, from morning through the afternoon, for anyone who wishes to visit Scot and say their goodbyes. There will be cards available for people to sign and leave messages for the family.

The hospital has also offered to hold an honor walk in recognition of Scot’s selfless decision to be an organ donor. Hospital staff will line the halls, and anyone who wishes is welcome to participate. After the honor walk, Scot will be taken to a private room where life support will be removed. Our immediate family will not be present beyond the honor walk, but others are welcome to stay if they feel called to do so.

Please continue to keep Scot and his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.

Update with a Heavy Heart

It is with a very heavy heart that we share this update about Scot. Unfortunately, his condition has taken a turn for the worse. After careful consideration and guidance from the medical team, the decision has been made to allow Scot to try to breathe on his own. At this time, the doctors’ prognosis is not good.

Today is the day for family and friends who are able to visit, to come see Scot, share their love, and be with him. Tyler and the family are deeply grateful for the continued prayers, support, and kindness that have surrounded them during this unimaginable time.

Scot has always shown up for the people in his life with generosity, strength, and compassion. Your presence, prayers, and support mean more than words can express right now. Thank you for standing with Scot and his family and for keeping them in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult moment.

Scot Hemingway has always been the kind of friend who never turns his back on anyone. He’s the first to offer help, answer questions, and support those around him. Now, Scot needs our help more than ever. Recently, Scot suffered a seizure and a bleeding in his brain, which has left him in a debilitated state. He is currently in a treatment facility, working hard every day in rehab to regain his strength and independence.

Scot’s son, Tyler, has stepped up to care for his father, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Between the costs of emergency medical care, ongoing rehab, and everyday living expenses, it’s become nearly impossible for Tyler to keep up. The stress of managing bills while making sure Scot gets the care he needs is taking a toll on their family.

Scot has always been there for us, offering his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support. This is our chance to give back and show him how much we care. Your support will help cover Scot’s medical and rehab expenses, and provide Tyler with the means to continue supporting his father through this difficult journey. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for standing with Scot and his family.
