With a heavy heart, I’m reaching out to ask for help on behalf of my brother-in-law, Scooter McWilliams, and his family.
Scooter has just been diagnosed with liver cancer and cirrhosis—a devastating blow, especially considering all they’ve already endured. Just a few years ago, his wife (my sister), Nicole, a devoted critical care nurse, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She had to leave the job she loved to fight for her life. By God’s grace, she is now cancer-free, but the toll of treatment has left her unable to return to work.
Their two daughters are nearing college graduation, and Scooter had just started a new job. We truly believed life was turning a corner—until this new, heartbreaking diagnosis. Now, they are once again facing overwhelming uncertainty and hardship.
Our family is doing everything we can, but the financial and emotional burden is immense. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help ease some of that weight and support Scooter, Nicole, and their daughters during this incredibly difficult time.
If you know them, you know their deep faith, their strength, and the kindness they’ve shown to so many. If you feel led, please consider donating, sharing this page, or simply lifting them up in prayer.
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for your love, prayers, and support.
Your donation helps cover medical costs and living expenses while Scooter undergoes treatment. Thank you for lifting up this incredible family.
