Scooter Marriner has called Oakland, California his home for 21 years, and San Francisco for 21 years before that, sharing his life with his husband, Paul Ferguson. As a designer, craftsman and tour guide, Scooter has touched many lives in the community, and his dedication as a decades long participant at Burning Man—including as a Black Rock Ranger for a dozen years under the handle 'Coffee Cup'—shows his commitment to helping others.

In May, Scooter will undergo open heart surgery. While he is fortunate to have Paul by his side during his recovery, the road ahead will be long and challenging. Scooter will be unable to leave his home for many months, and the costs of food delivery and daily needs will quickly add up.
