My name is Cienna and Scooby is my sweet, goofy dog who you have probably seen walking around campus. Scooby loves walking around UWM meeting everyone, dog park trips and long car rides.

I adopted Scooby from MADACC in September hoping to give him a restart at life. Scooby was found as an abandoned bait dog for dog fighting in an apartment with his ears cut off by scissors. Scooby was also supposed to be euthanized soon. Early in December he was in the ICU for getting into trash but other than that he has been extremely happy living his college life.

Recently we got some bad news. Scooby was diagnosed with patellar luxation and a partially torn ACL in his knee.

Right now, the short term plan is strict week for 2-3 weeks but this is only temporary. Without surgery he can develop severe arthritis, have a higher chance of tearing his other knee and will only have 50% mobility. The surgery to repair his knee is $6000-$7000 and takes 8-12 weeks for recovery.

Scooby is incredibly gentle and full of love. I have seen him bring smiles to people's faces all over campus and he enjoys it as well. Seeing him so upset has been heartbreaking.
