Scooby and Max - Binny's best friends, buddies, and most-importantly, his brothers for the past 15 years. Born on 6/17/2009, both Scooby and Max have been inseparable, and have grown up alongside Binny since then. Scooby and Max have been there for Binny during his outdoor yakitori and beer parties, cheering him on as he hit new PRs in his backyard gym, and waiting for Binny to drop any scraps when he's outdoor working the grill and BBQing. Scooby (aka Scoobs) - likes to act like the "alpha dog" and a leader but really he is a big softy who just wants head scratches and his favorite treats. Max (aka Maxy) - a little air headed, and a little goofy, and the most loyal, hoppity, little fella who loves belly scratches. Scooby and Max absolutely adore Binny, and Binny is lucky to have such loving, silly, crazy, and down to earth brothers.
This past week, Scooby's health began to significantly deteriorate - he has had trouble eating, nausea, vomiting, lethargic, and lost a significant amount of muscle. On 8/24/24, we took Scooby to the emergency hospital and were notified that he has high liver enzymes and pneumonia. The doctor is currently working on identifying the cause of the elevated liver enzymes (we have been notified that there is a possibility of chronic liver disease or liver cancer). The doctor recommended a treatment plan that will help Scooby with his nausea including Catheter, Fluids, Oxygen, anti-nausea medications, antibiotics, X-rays, and an ultrasound. Scooby is expected to be hospitalized for the next 12 - 24 hours.
At this time, we have paid over $1300 for Scooby to receive his initial examinations and blood tests. Now, we are anticipating the costs to increase anywhere from $4000 - $5000 total based on his updated treatment plan. Unfortunately, the financial responsibilities to support Scooby live his best life have caused a strain due to the unexpected nature of these costs. We are hoping to raise some money and spread the word to help support Scooby throughout this journey. Anything helps (whether that is words of encouragement, financial support, sharing this page, etc.), and anything is deeply appreciated. While we are at terms with Scooby's old age, he continues to have the soul of a puppy dog, wagging his tail as happily as ever and we'd like to be able to do everything in our power to give him more time to spend with his brothers as comfortably, and as peacefully as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this blurb. Keep fighting Scoobs!
GO SCOOBY GO! We love you! Scooby is AWESOME! We can't wait until you're back home!
