In January 2026, our colleague and dear friend Andrew received the heartbreaking news of a terminal cancer diagnosis (Glioblastoma).

Andrew is a loving husband to his childhood sweetheart, Glennice, and a devoted father to their three beautiful children. This life-changing diagnosis has profoundly affected their family, disrupting their daily lives and impacting Andrew’s ability to work and enjoy the hobbies he loves. Andrew started his QPS career in 1991 and has worked in frontline policing roles servicing communities throughout regional QLD including Rockhampton, Blackall, Middlemount, Peranga, Richmond, Hervey Bay and Tiaro. At the time of diagnosis Andrew (Ready) was attached to Maryborough Scenes of Crime where he has been a forensic officer since 2009.

Despite this unimaginable challenge, Andrew has faced his diagnosis with incredible strength and resilience. He continues to be a source of love and support for his family and friends, dedicating his time to creating precious memories and cherishing every moment with his loved ones.
