Help Sci-Five get to the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City, Missouri!
Meet Sci-Five, a determined Destination Imagination team of five fifth graders – Addy, Scarlett, Hadley, Jameson, and Marek – from Preston Smith Elementary in Lubbock, Texas. These dedicated students have been honing their creative problem-solving skills since second grade, all while dreaming of reaching the pinnacle of DI: Global Finals. This year, tackling the Scientific Challenge, they've researched a fascinating planet, woven their findings into an imaginative eight-minute performance complete with a scientific demonstration and a unique technobabble device.
The Destination Imagination program has been more than just a competition for this team. It has been an opportunity for these kids to showcase their creativity, problem-solve using critical thinking skills, and learn to collaborate with each other. The team members have also learned lifelong skills like how to build sets, create props, do research, incorporate technical methods into their work, think outside the box, present to an audience, communicate with others, time management, and to have a strong work ethic by being committed to a team. All of these skills will help them not only in school but beyond the classroom in the workforce. Their journey showcases innovation, teamwork, and a burning desire to represent Lubbock on the world stage in Kansas City, Missouri in May!
Please donate to help Sci-Five achieve their dream of competing at the Destination Imagination Global Finals!!
