The Society for Causal Inference (SCI) was founded to advance the science, practice, and teaching of causal inference across disciplines. In just a short time, SCI has become a vibrant intellectual home for researchers, educators, and practitioners committed to rigorous and relevant causal work. That growth has been extraordinary—but it has also brought real financial challenges.
As a relatively young 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and unlike many long-standing professional societies, SCI does not have a substantial endowment or stable grant support. At present, we are facing a severe budget shortfall that threatens our ability to sustain core activities that many of us value deeply.
With your support, SCI can continue to:
- Expand access to high-quality educational resources
- Support students and early-career scholars at a critical stage of their development
- Foster mentorship, collaboration, and an inclusive professional community
- Sustain the American Causal Inference Conference (ACIC), a flagship meeting that brings together leaders from around the world
Quite simply, donations right now will have an immediate and tangible impact. Contributions help us keep SCI financially viable and ensure that causal inference continues to thrive as a rigorous, interdisciplinary field with real-world impact.
You may choose to support SCI’s general mission through this GoFundMe or contribute to a targeted initiative such as the Marshall Joffe Fund in Causal Inference, which honors Marshall’s legacy by supporting students and early-career researchers.
Thank you for your support of the Society for Causal Inference!
