Over the last few years, I’ve had the chance to spend some time around the Ryan Shazier Fund and see firsthand some of what they’re doing for the spinal cord injury community.
I had the opportunity to spend time at The Woodlands, where the Fund helps create opportunities for people in the SCI community to get outside, try new things, connect with other people who understand the journey, and simply have experiences that can be difficult to access otherwise.
I’ve also been involved with the Run for Black and Gold and have gotten to know Ryan and some of the people around the Fund. Through those experiences, I’ve seen how much they genuinely care about the SCI community and the community they’re continuing to build around it.
Life after a spinal cord injury can change a lot about how you experience the world, and having opportunities to do things, meet people, and be around others who understand some of that experience is incredibly valuable.
September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, and I’m hoping to raise $5,000 for the Ryan Shazier Fund for Spinal Rehabilitation to help support more opportunities like these.
I’d love to see us raise some serious money for them.
If you’re able to donate, I’d really appreciate it. If not, sharing this with someone else goes a long way too.
Let’s see what we can do
