Hallo allemaal,

Wij zijn 12 medische studenten van de Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam en volgen op dit moment de minor Global Health. Binnenkort zullen wij voor 6,5 week naar Kenia reizen. De eerste drie weken zullen we lokale ziekenhuizen bezoeken en naar scholen gaan, waar we les gaan geven. De laatste weken mogen we meelopen met artsen in het Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret. Zo krijgen we de kans om gezondheidszorg in een totaal verschillend land te ervaren en medische kennis uit te wisselen.

De kinderen op lokale scholen in Kenia hebben vaak niet voldoende schoolspullen tot hun beschikking. Om deze kinderen te ondersteunen, willen we graag schoolspullen zoals schriften en pennen, sportshirts en voetballen aan hen geven. Daarnaast ondersteunen we graag de Dutch Kenyan Health Foundation door geld op te halen voor draagbare röntgenapparatuur om tuberculose patiënten sneller te kunnen diagnosticeren. Hello everyone,

We are 12 medical students from Erasmus University Rotterdam, currently enrolled in the Global Health minor. Soon, we will be traveling to Kenya for 6.5 weeks. During the first three weeks, we will visit local hospitals and schools, where we will provide lessons. For the remaining weeks, we will be interning at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret. This way, we get the chance to experience healthcare in a completely different country and to exchange medical knowledge.

The children at local schools often do not have enough school supplies for good education. To support these children, we would love to bring them items such as school supplies, sports shirts, and footballs. In addition, we aim to support the Dutch Kenyan Health Foundation by raising money for a portable X-ray machine to diagnose tuberculosis patients faster.
