Dear friends,
My name is Umut Duygu Uzunel. I have been working as an ophthalmologist in Bamako, Mali, for 9 months.
During my recent visit to an orphanage here, I met around 150 incredible children who are full of curiosity, hope, and potential — yet lack access to one of the most basic human rights: education.
These children have lost their families, but not their dreams. With your help, we can allow them to attend school, learn, and grow into confident, capable young adults.
The school year in Mali is divided into three terms, and each term costs $100 per child. This includes tuition, basic materials, and school-related fees.
That means with just $300, one child can attend a full year of school.
We are raising funds to sponsor as many children as possible, at least 100 of them, from this orphanage so they don’t have to miss out on another year of learning and hope.
Do not limit yourself; Any amount of support is valuable for them. Let’s give them hope for future.
