Dr. Sharona Ross, founder of the Women in Surgery (WIS) Career Symposium, leads an annual program that provides mentorship, professional development, and a supportive network for women pursuing surgical careers. This year, Dr. Ross suffered a traumatic brain injury in a June 1st bicycle accident. Working through her recovery, she has not been able to raise funds to sponsor these young ladies for the upcoming 2026 conference. As such, the symposium faces a late fundraising gap. Currently, more than 300 young women (all students) have requested scholarships to attend this year's event. These students lack the financial resources to participate without assistance. The all-in cost per student averages $750, covering registration, hotel lodging, and meals over the 2-day program. Your contribution will directly fund scholarships, enabling qualified, motivated students to attend, learn from leading surgeons, build mentorship relationships, and stay on a path toward surgical careers that need their talent and leadership.
