On September 18, 2025, my sister, Schanika Short, age 49, underwent a life-saving double lung transplant after battling for over 15 years with endometriosis, which over time caused both of her lungs to fail. What should be a time filled with hope and relief is also incredibly overwhelming for our family. Schanika now faces a long road to recovery, and while she is making progress, the journey ahead is still challenging. She requires ongoing daily medical treatments and must take expensive anti-rejection medications to protect her new lungs. In addition, there are significant costs for lodging, hospital stays, and basic living expenses, especially since she has been unable to work for over five years. We are asking for your support to help ease this financial burden so Schanika can focus fully on healing and rebuilding her strength. Every donation, share, and prayer truly mean more to us than words can express. Thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, and continued prayers during this difficult time.
