On July 11th, my cat Scar managed to escape from his foster parents’ home. When they arrived back, Scar was found unconscious in the front yard with blood all over his jaw and side. After rushing him to the emergency hospital, the doctor said he had been attacked by coyotes and had a fractured jaw with bite marks along his side. The doctor recommended inserting a metal wire into his jaw to help the bones fuse together properly; however, Scar began to reject the wire about a day later.
Instead of the six months originally required to maintain the wire, it now must be removed as soon as possible to avoid complications. These are all expenses I’m struggling to cover on such short notice. After the wire is removed, we’ll have to explore alternative treatments for Scar.
Scar is only three years old, and before this, he was full of life and energy. I just want my baby to be free from pain. And although it may be selfish, I know I’ll never be ready to say goodbye.
