Hi, my name is Scar (some may know me as Scarllet),

And I’m reaching out with something that’s incredibly personal and honestly a little hard to ask for — but I’ve decided to start this fundraiser to support my journey through top surgery.

This has been a long time coming. My closest friends have known for a while, and while it feels a bit embarrassing to ask for help, I’m learning that community is about showing up for each other, even when it’s uncomfortable. I’m currently raising $1,500 to help me get through the few weeks I’ll need to take off work to recover. The funds will go directly toward covering my rent, some groceries, aftercare supplies, and giving me the space to heal safely and peacefully.

Even $1 helps, and so does sharing or liking this with people in your circle. I know times are tough for a lot of us, so please know that whatever support looks like for you, I appreciate it deeply.

If there are any unused funds, I plan to pay it forward by donating to someone else going through gender-affirming care or to a nonprofit that provides services to the LGBTQ+ community. This journey isn’t just mine — it’s part of a bigger fight for access, dignity, and affirmation.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to APLA Gender Health Services for helping me even get to this point. I didn’t think this process would be a reality for me for many years, and their support helped open a door I thought would stay closed.
