Help Me Stay Stable While Living With Multiple Chronic Illnesses

Hi, my name is Scarlett.

This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write, because I’ve always tried to handle life on my own. But right now I’m in a position where my health has taken away my ability to work, and I’m doing everything I can just to stay stable while I wait for help.

Since May 2025, my life has changed drastically due to multiple chronic illnesses. I live with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. These conditions affect my connective tissue, nervous system, and digestive system, causing chronic pain, severe fatigue, dizziness, and episodes where my body simply can’t function the way it should.

Recently my health situation has become even more complicated. I experienced severe pelvic pain that led to the discovery of a ruptured ovarian cyst, and doctors now suspect I may also be dealing with endometriosis. Many days are spent managing pain, fatigue, and symptoms that make even basic daily tasks difficult.

Because of my health, I have been unable to maintain employment since May 2025. I have applied for disability benefits, but the process can take many months (sometimes even over a year) before a decision is made. During this waiting period, I am doing everything I can to survive and remain stable.

One of the only constants through all of this has been my dog, Sage. Sage is my standard poodle and my companion through the hardest days of my illness. When my health keeps me home or when I’m struggling physically or emotionally, she is always right beside me. She gives me comfort, stability, and a reason to keep pushing forward.

Right now I am asking for help so that I can stay safe and stable while navigating this difficult chapter of my life.

Funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward essential needs such as:

• Housing and rent stability

• Electricity and utilities

• Basic living necessities like hygiene and household items

• A grooming kit for Sage so I can groom her at home and avoid the ongoing cost of professional grooming

My goal is not luxury or excess, it is simply stability while I wait for disability support and continue working with doctors to manage my health.
