Hi ! My name is Scarlet-Rae, a 21 year old transfemme artist with fibromyalgia and CPTSD desperately trying to escape an unsafe hometown with my ESA Astro.

Over the past year we have faced homelessness, food insecurity, and other barriers to access all of our necessities and only just barely got housing with the help of various non-profits this past May. Now after the increasingly dangerous last few months, having men swerve their cars into crosswalks at me screaming threats and slurs like battle cries, a minister call the police on me for being trans in public, and losing all access to my disability medicine and HRT due to the discriminatory practices of local doctors and med-ride services; it's time I asked for the urgent help I need to relocate to health, safety, and community in Portland with the assistance of WERQ Together. A non-profit dedicated to helping in the relocation process of trans folks across the country.

This urgent nature has been worsened exponentially having just lost my job, and needing to pour all of my savings into keeping my tri-pawed pup and I fed with a roof over our head. I have begun selling nearly all of my possessions, but unfortunately I have not been granted the time needed nor have enough valuables to facilitate a move that's going to bring us to a better place on my own.

Meaning, I need some help from you to fill in the gaps.

With low income rents averaging at around 700 a month, food costs rising, and needing to be able to cover various accommodations and necessities like transportation, it was recommended to me by WERQ together to set a 3,000$ savings goal that will help pass housing barriers and allow about 3 months of security to begin getting settled into a new life. This will ensure that if the job market hasn't treated me kindly by October 1st despite my best efforts, that I'll still be able to make it to safety before the violence against me escalates any further and/or I lose access to all of my basic resources.
