Support Scarlet Wallen's Journey to Pain Relief

Hello, my name is Scarlet Wallen, and I am trying to raise money so that I can afford double jaw surgery an well as many others I have been struggling with jaw pain for the past few years as a result of congenital conditions Klippel-Feil syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and a dentofacial deformity called class 3 malocclusion. These conditions caused me to develop temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), and dental and jaw issues that braces were unable to properly address. After being evaluated by multiple different dentists, orthodontists, and jaw surgeons, my care team has decided that my circumstances would best be addressed with double jaw surgery.

Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't typically cover this type of procedure . The cost is estimated to be around 40,000$ to 50,000$ out of pocket. I am disabled and have been unable to work due to severe chronic pain and multiple recent major surgeries. I will need additional major surgeries every couple of months and treatment's for the next few years, due to multiple debilitating musculoskeletal conditions. This makes working impossible as I am in and out of being bed- bound.

If I do not get double jaw surgery, it is expected that I will have continued damage to my teeth, continued pain involving my temporomandibular joints, continued difficulty and pain with chewing and swallowing, and my jaw strain will persist potentially creating further jaw and dental problems over time.

I am in a lot of daily pain due to conditions Ehlers Danlos syndrome, Klippel-Feil syndrome, tethered cord, frequent dislocations, Mast Cell Activation syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome, and over a dozen comorbid conditions that came with. This surgery would be a big step in addressing some of my chronic daily pain. All donations here will go towards surgery cost, pain Mgmt treatment, and hospital stay cost.
