We are raising funds to bring an original student fashion film to life. This project is a visually immersive collaboration between emerging filmmakers, designers, and artists who believe in the power of storytelling through clothing, movement, and cinematic imagery.
The film is centered around designer Emma Hock's senior collection. Emma's relationship with fashion began long before she ever stepped into a professional studio. The first thing she ever sewed was a scarf with a pocket for her hamster so she could show her favorite pet the world. From that moment on, Emma fell in love with making things that have never been made before and developed a deep passion for fashion design.
Over the years, Emma's childhood curiosity has evolved into a deeply personal artistic voice. During her time at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Emma has been surrounded by a community of artists who share the same drive to create. That environment pushed her ideas further than she ever imagined possible. Her senior collection represents years of inspiration and reflection, and is based on an idea that has been forming in the back of her mind for a long time.
Emma’s collection explores perception, disconnection, and the fragile boundary between reality and hallucination. Inspired by psychological experiences that fragment how we perceive the world, the garments reflect a reality where the familiar begins to feel distant and connection becomes difficult to grasp.
Soft, muted tones and layered handmade patterns evoke the quiet chaos of an internal world. The pieces feel dreamlike, distant, and emotionally suspended in time. Each garment is designed to feel like a floating memory. They are exaggerated yet softened by time and exist in a sensory haze between familiarity and abstraction.
Our fashion film will translate Emma’s deeply personal collection into a cinematic experience. Through lighting, movement, set design, and visual storytelling, we aim to capture the emotional meaning behind the garments to make the pieces accessible to a wider audience. The film explores the tension between isolation and the longing for connection, as well as the unexpected beauty that can emerge from fragmentation.
This project brings together a team of passionate student filmmakers and artists who are eager to push creative boundaries while gaining real world experience in fashion and film production. Together, we are working to transform this collection into a visually powerful short film that celebrates emerging creative voices.
Your support will help cover essential production costs including equipment, set design, wardrobe and styling, and post production. Every contribution helps bring this vision to life and gives young artists the opportunity to create work that is ambitious, collaborative, and deeply meaningful.
By supporting this project, you are not just funding a film. You are helping launch the creative work of artists like Emma Hock and the filmmakers working alongside her.
