Hi, my name is Savvas Pantazis and I’m trying to raise funds for a stem cell transplant. As some of you may or may not know, just over 5 years ago I was diagnosed with MS, specifically Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. PPMS is an aggressive form of MS where it just gradually continues to progress. In the last five years I’ve gone from walking independently, to a cane, a walker/rollator, and for a while now, a wheelchair. In addition to mobility issues, there is fatigue, weakness, brain fog, heat/cold sensitivity, numbness, spasticity, bladder issues, compromised immune system, depression, stress and anxiety. The stem cell procedure I am referring to is called HSCT. It’s an aggressive treatment that deals with taking your stem cells, receiving chemo to destroy your immune system and rebuild it using those stem cells. There have been great results with HSCT and of course every one has different results. The treatment at UCI Health requires a 10 week(on average) stay in Southern California. Three weeks pre testing, stem cell maximization, and getting ready. Approximately four weeks inpatient and minimum two weeks required follow up testing after discharge. The funds raised will be used for medical expenses, travel, lodging and food. Your gift and sharing of this information will be greatly appreciated! God bless and please keep us in your prayers.
