What Just Happened
I was recently awarded a $500 scholarship to attend Newberry’s School of Beauty in Los Angeles, a reputable and well-respected beauty school. This confirmation affirmed what I already knew: with my years of hands-on experience and passion for beauty, I am ready to flourish.
Why This Matters
I am a self-taught beauty specialist. Growing up, I didn’t have everything I wanted, but I had creativity, determination, and a love for beauty. As a child, during recess, I carried a small bag of nail polish and built a line of classmates waiting for their nails to be done. What started as fun quickly became my first taste of entrepreneurship, getting paid to help people feel confident. That little business grew so large that one day I was called into the school office… and shut down.
But the spark never left me.
Today, I am returning to that calling, this time with intention, education, and vision. My goal is to build a business that supports beauty, confidence, and a strong sense of well-being, because beauty is not just how we look, it’s how we feel.
What I’m Doing
I am enrolling at Newberry’s School of Beauty to become a licensed nail technician, laying the foundation for my own women-owned beauty and wellness business.
What I Need
I am incredibly grateful for the $500 scholarship I’ve received. However, I still need help covering the remaining costs to officially enroll.

Why Now
This path has always been my dream. From an early age, beauty was never just a hobby for me, it was how I expressed creativity, built confidence in others, and discovered my first sense of purpose. Life required me to be practical, resilient, and responsible, and there were seasons where survival had to come first. Now I am now choosing to invest in my calling and claim the future I’ve been working toward for years. This chapter is about rebuilding with intention, confidence, and vision.
