Support Sava's Transplant Recovery Journey

To those of you who have been following Sava’s journey, we have recently gotten some great news! On Friday, 8/23/2024 at around 6am, while we were in Maui celebrating Ella’s birthday, Sava got the call that she has been waiting for since 2021. They found a match!

After 3 flights and a 7 hour drive, we got to Mayo Clinic in Arizona and at 2pm on August 24, they performed the much awaited Simultaneous Pancreas and Kidney Transplant.

This wasn’t an easy journey at all. And it isn’t over just yet. Sava will be on anti-rejection and anti-infection meds for the rest of her life. She will need continuous therapy since her balance and legs are still not completely healed. The first year is supercritical with these types of transplant.

We want Sava to focus on her healing and recovery journey. Hospital/medical bills will definitely pile up not to mention accommodation needs as she is required to be local for at least 4-6 weeks to be closely monitored. Any help will be much appreciated.
