My name is Chloe Parker, Savannah's cousin. Rallying around Savannah and her husband, Soren, during this difficult season has been so important. I want to include her friends, family, and extended community in on an opportunity to share how we can best support them. The funds raised will 100% go towards Savannah's medical bills.
As many of you know, on August 11th, 2023, Savannah had heart surgery.
Throughout her life, Savannah has experienced fainting but did not believe it was anything to be too concerned about. However, this past June, she experienced a more serious fainting episode and decided to discuss her concerns with her primary care doctor. Her doctor was concerned and immediately referred her to a cardiologist. On August 7th, after seeing the cardiologist, she was given a heart monitor to wear for 48 hours. The heart monitor was constantly monitored by the cardiologist and their team. Savannah went about her normal daily activities, and while driving home from work on August 8th, her cardiologist called and told her to go to the emergency room immediately due to abnormal heart activity. She drove herself to Mills Peninsula Medical Center in Burlingame, CA. She was under the care of an electro physicist doctor who specializes in the heart's electrical function. They discovered through running various tests and monitoring her heart that she suffers from extreme bradycardia and a sinus node dysfunction. This caused her heart to stop beating for 4-7 seconds at a time and this would happen 50+ times every day. This discovery explained why Savannah was fainting and it is believed that she has suffered from this condition her whole life.
We are so grateful for the doctors and medical staff that were able to perform Savannah's successful heart surgery. There are many unknowns, but her heart is now beating more regularly than before and she will continue to be monitored moving forward.
Due to the nature of this emergency situation, Savannah and Soren have been left with some larger medical bills from her surgery and hospital care. To know Savannah is to love her, and if you are able to give financially, it would remove some of the financial burden they are experiencing.
Thank you for the love and support you have shown Savannah and Soren during this difficult time!
