Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
We’re reaching out to rally around Savannah McLeod, a 34-year-old wife, mother of two beautiful children, and a radiant soul who lights up every room she enters. Savannah is the kind of person who gives the best hugs, would give you the shirt off her back, and faces every challenge with grace and strength. Right now, she’s facing her toughest challenge yet: a Stage 3 cervical cancer diagnosis.
In her own words, shared bravely on Facebook, Savannah’s journey began with intense pain and symptoms that led to a life-changing discovery. After a D&C and ablation in October 2023, she began experiencing severe pain and bleeding by March 2024. Despite trying to push through, the pain became unbearable, and with the urging of her mom and sisters, she visited the ER in June. Imaging revealed fibroids and a large cyst, leading to a planned hysterectomy. But just days before surgery, a biopsy ordered by her doctor’s intuition revealed cervical cancer, halting the procedure and changing everything.
Savannah is now under the care of the Norton Cancer Institute in Louisville, over three hours from her home in Kuttawa. She faces intensive radiation and chemotherapy, with ongoing tests to finalize her treatment plan. As a hardworking, selfless individual, Savannah does not receive paid leave from her job, and the financial burden of medical treatments, travel expenses, and time away from work is overwhelming.
We’re launching this GoFundMe to help ease the financial strain so Savannah can focus on fighting this battle and being there for her husband and two young children. Funds raised will go toward:
• Medical expenses: Covering treatments, including radiation and chemotherapy, and ongoing tests at Norton Cancer Institute.
• Travel costs: Supporting regular trips to Louisville, including gas, lodging, and meals for Savannah and her family.
• Living expenses: Helping with bills and daily needs while Savannah is unable to work during treatment.
Savannah’s story is a testament to her resilience and the importance of trusting your instincts. Her courage inspires us all, and now it’s our turn to give back to someone who gives so much to others. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network is a powerful way to show support.
Thank you for standing with Savannah, Mitch, Vivian & Maverick during this challenging time. Let’s help keep her light shining bright as she fights this battle with the same love and strength she shares with the world.
With gratitude,
Megan McPherson, behalf of Savannah McLeod and her family
