Support Savannah and Layla's Long Road to Recovery

My name is Rich. I am writing this out in hopes I can help my sister, Savannah, and her daughter, Layla, my niece, with all they need medically for their road to recovery, as well as help get them another car.

Yesterday, during a bad freak snowstorm, my sister and niece were driving along 26 Mile Road and were T-boned. Their car spun out into the opposite lane, and an oncoming SUV T-boned the passenger side. Life rescue was there to use the Jaws to extract them both from the vehicle. Both were unconscious in the car and rushed to the hospital in Mt. Clemens, where they determined my niece Layla, after scans, has a shattered pelvis, shattered arm, and her face is broken. She was bleeding internally with a lacerated kidney. They did emergency surgery last night, 1.14.2026, to get the bleeding to stop and work on her pelvis, which ended this morning, 1.15.2026, at 4:30 am. She has many more surgeries coming in the next week.

My sister Savannah currently has a broken collarbone and a broken/fractured upper thoracic spine. She is completely unaware of what's going on, doesn't know why she's in the hospital, or even that she has a daughter. Her CT scans did show no brain bleeding but she is bleeding near her kidney.

This vehicle saved their lives, and it was the only car my sister had to get her daughter to and from school at Richmond High School. This is going to be a long road to recovery, with huge medical bills, insurance fights, and now without a vehicle.

They are both still in the hospital.

I'm asking anyone to help if you can, so I can make sure they can recover stress-free and not worry about bills piling up from the house as well as their medical bills to come in. If anyone knows me personally, this isn't something I do, asking for help, but it's my only option.

** UPDATE** 1/16/2026
My Sister is awake, and her memory is coming back very quickly, she is still very much in pain, her back is whats hurting the most.

Layla Had her 2nd surgery Last night to reconstruct her Jaw, her next surgery is to complete the pelvic connection to lower lumbar and repair her arm.

**Update** 1/17/2026
My Sister Called again this morning at 7am. She's in a lot of pain still, in a back brace that keeps her from twisting or bending, as well protects her collar bones. SHE DOES HAVE SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS! Doctors are coming to look over everything, to see if My Sister is able to be discharged today.

Layla's Surgeries last night to reconstruct her arm was a success. They have moved her out of ICU and into her own room now. The Pelvic reattachment surgery looks like it will be monday.

**Update* 1/18/2026

My Sister Savannah woke up today and her memory is back, still does not recall the incident. She meets with Surgeon today to see if she needs surgery on the spine, or if it will heal on its own over time.

Layla is doing good, Her Jaw is wired shut, she's speaking the best she can. Her Pelvic surgery is scheduled for Monday, unless a delay happens.

** UPDATE** 1/19/2026

Savannah IS HOME Relaxing, discharged at 3pm today.

Layla went into her Pelvic reattachment surgery at noon today, she just got into recovery doing amazing at 5pm.
