“On Friday Savanah woke up with a horrible headache, this headache continued throughout the day and progressively got worse. By Saturday morning my daughter was not my daughter. She could hardly walk, very confused, glazed face and couldn't speak at all. A few different things happened and I decided to take her into the ER at Bronson around 4:30 pm yesterday (Saturday), she was admitted to the Bronson Pediatric ICU unit around 7:30 where she will remain.” (Kerri Lynn Dooley).
Young Savanah Dehart is currently at Bronson Children’s Hospital in the pediatric intensive care unit fighting for her life as she lay in a medically induced coma on life-support. Unsure of what the next few days and moments might hold for there adolescent daughter, Kerri Dooley and Bryan Dehart wait eagerly by Savanah’s side in hopes of seeing her “infectious smile” once again.
Shortly after being admitted to Bronson Children’s Hospital, the medical team overseeing Savanah’s care delivered Kerri and Bryan news about their daughter having encephalitis. Following this unsettling news, Savanah’s parents were delivered the results of her CAT scan which revealed that the swelling in her brain was not focalized and now appeared to be moving down her spine. ***As of 8/23/19: The medical team overseeing Savanah's care have positively identified mycoplasma pneumonia to be the cause of her encephalitis. She is now being treated with a variety of drugs in an effort to combat the infection, however, the doctors overseeing her care believe extensive rehabilitation will be required if the drug treatments are successful.
Being faced with the devastating reality of possibly losing your precious baby girl is something that no parent ever wants to occur. Savanah and her family had their entire world flipped upside down in an instant… Let’s support them as they face this tumultuous time in their lives by showering Savanah in prayer’s and providing her parents the much-needed funds to see them through this stormy situation.
