On November 22nd, our lives were turned upside down when a 3-alarm fire broke out above us on our apartment's roof deck. The fire was caused by a party that took place on said roof deck. In a matter of hours, the fire and water damage caused the floors above us to collapse, leaving a gaping hole in our living room/kitchen. We were only able to grab our cats and phones before firefighters commanded us to leave. While we are deeply grateful we were home to save our cats, the loss of our 'safe space' has been devastating.

Starting from scratch is daunting. The city deemed the building unsafe, so we are unable to recover any of our belongings, which are most likely beyond repair. Irreplaceable memories and treasures are lost to us, including my great-grandmother's 30+ year old heirloom rug, handmade gifts, and an extensive collection of EDM merch. Along with memories, I lost my wardrobe. Most of my clothes were handmade, vintage, or thrifted, making it extremely expensive and difficult to replace.

As we rebuild our lives, we are seeking your support to help us in this time of need. Along with losing our physical items, the emotional toll has been overwhelming. Any support will help us cover essential needs, such as veterinary care and therapy expenses. You really don't realize how much you rely on your stuff until everything is taken from you.
