This Christmas has been one of unexpected events for our family. Sasha was booked in for a typical leg surgery that we have previously been through. Upon her surgery day, the vets found a very small abnormality in her leg that needed attention. Unfortunately, this resulted in Sasha needing her leg amputated. On the 23rd of December Sasha became a 3-legged tripawd dog. It has been a pretty stressful time for us. Thankfully, Sasha has responded well to living on 3 legs.

Today we’ve received the outcome that without intervention, Sasha has a life expectancy of 2-3 months. Due to picking up Sasha’s tumour extremely early, we have hope that moving forward with treatment will be one that keeps Sasha healthy and around for a little longer than a few months.

Im not usually one to reach out on this kind of platform, but we are asking for a little help from friends and family. We’ve had unexpected costs from this entire situation and unfortunately, Sasha’s insurance has hit the limit. We are fully aware of the costs that are involved with her treatment through chemo, however anything can happen and we want to be absolutely prepared for whatever is thrown our way. Our expected costs are $6000 for ongoing treatment.
