Since mid-January, we have been back and forth to the vet doing all kinds of testing to try to figure out what’s going on with my Sasha Rose.
3 vet visits, a couple thousand dollars later, and we finally went to a new vet who was able to give us definitive answers.
In January, we took her to her regular vet to look at a small lump on her leg. She had been limping, and it had been going on for 2 weeks without any improvement. They did X-rays, blood work, biopsies, and a histology test. We were told the X-rays showed that there were no bone issues and the bone was solid and healthy. Her blood tests came back with all normal results. We then had to wait 3 weeks for the results of the biopsies. She had 3 taken, and we were told all were showing no signs of cancer and all healthy tissue. We were advised to let her rest as they thought it was a CCL injury. Fast forward another 3 weeks, and still no improvement, so we go back to the vet for advice. She gives Sasha a look over, reviews all the stuff we already did, and advised it is a fatty lipoma. She suggested we go to the surgical center to have it removed. I opted not to go directly to a surgery center and to go to another vet hospital for another opinion. This is a vet who is also able to do mass removal and other surgeries if it came down to that. Rather than just direct to surgery based on the findings of the previous vet.
Well, the appointment was today, 4/21/2025. He is certain it is a fibrosarcoma (cancerous tumor) and because of the delay in removal, the mass can no longer be removed. Instead, she will need to have the whole leg amputated. If we cannot come up with the funds to have the amputation done, then we will be forced to euthanize my girl.
If anyone is willing or able to donate to help us help my baby girl, please, please, please do so. You can donate here to the GoFundMe, or you can call the vet hospital directly to make a donation. The account details are at the top of the estimate page.
Any amount is more than appreciated, and we are grateful for anything that can help!
If you wish to donate via alternate methods, I also have CashApp, Venmo, and PayPal, go fund me will not allow me to add those details here.
