Support Sasha & Family in Fight Against ALS

Hello, my name is Lisa Billett and I am setting up this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved Sasha Kourbatova, and her family Brandon, Gemma and Gryffin.

So many of you have reached out to ask what can be done to support Sasha and her family and have expressed the desire to contribute to her ongoing care. The goal with this fundraiser is to ensure that Sasha can live the best life possible with ALS. We want to ensure that she can remain home with her beautiful family making memories while she can, without the added stress of the financial burden this disease is creating.

We humbly reach out to you today on behalf of a remarkable woman, Alexandra (Sasha) Kourbatova, who has recently been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Sasha's story is one of strength, perseverance, and love, and we are gathering together to provide a lifeline of support during this incredibly challenging time. Sasha, a 36-year-old devoted mother, loving fiancé, gymnast & coach, who has dedicated her life to the world of gymnastics and in recent years being a dedicated Mother of her two children. Growing up under the guidance of her mom, the renowned Olympic gymnast Maria Filatova, Sasha's passion for the sport flourished. She went on to establish her own gymnastics gym, Kour Magic Gymnastics which sadly closed its doors in 2016, where she taught young athletes, teaching them the very skills and values she held dear. However, life has taken an unexpected and devastating turn when Sasha received the heartbreaking diagnosis of ALS this year. This progressive neurodegenerative disease has gradually impaired her motor functions, making it increasingly difficult for her to perform everyday activities, including walking, and caring for her two beautiful children, Gryffin (2) and Gemma (5). The financial burden that accompanies Sasha's ALS journey is immense, and we are turning to you, our compassionate community, for support. Your generosity will enable us to assist Sasha and her family through various avenues, including:

1. Medical Expenses: Sasha requires specialized treatments and consultations at a renowned ALS center in Boston. The costs associated with travel, accommodation, and medical bills are substantial, and any contribution will alleviate this financial strain.

2. Home Modifications: To ensure Sasha's safety and comfort, her home needs significant modifications to accommodate her changing mobility needs. These modifications can be incredibly expensive, with estimates reaching upwards of six figures. Your donations will help create an accessible and nurturing environment where Sasha can continue to live with dignity and grace.

3. Caregiving Support: As Sasha's condition progresses, she requires assistance with daily tasks. Hiring professional caregivers who specialize in ALS care is crucial, and your contributions will enable Sasha to receive the support she needs while allowing her fiancé, Brandon Billett, to be present as the primary caregiver and emotional anchor for their children.

4. Financial Stability: With ALS preventing Sasha's ability to work and being a stay at home mom, the burden of providing for her family falls solely on Brandon's shoulders who travels a lot for his job and will have hard financial choices to both be there for his family and keep the lights on.
