Sasha and Oreo were recently rescued from a heartbreaking situation. These two dogs spent their entire lives chained outside with little care and no veterinary treatment.

Sasha is only two years old but has already had multiple litters of puppies. Many of those puppies were the result of inbreeding, and sadly only a few survived. She has already endured more suffering than any dog should.

Oreo is Sasha’s mom. She is five years old and very sick. After seeing a vet today, we learned she has severe heart disease and fluid building around her organs due to heartworms. It absolutely breaks our hearts to know she has been suffering and so sick this whole time while being chained to a pole. At this point, our goal is simply to keep her comfortable and surround her with as much love and care as possible for whatever time she has left. She was kept on the opposite side of the yard from Sasha, and we are so grateful they are finally getting to spend this time together and love on each other.

Some incredibly kind rescues have already stepped up and donated supplies, and we are so grateful for their help. Right now there are two things we desperately need.

1. Funds for veterinary care.

Sasha still needs to be spayed, vaccinated, and treated for heartworms. Oreo needs testing, medication, and ongoing care so we can keep her comfortable and give her the best quality of life possible for however long she has left.

2. A foster home for Sasha.

There are still seven dogs left on this same property that need help. If we can find a foster for Sasha, it will allow us to rescue another dog that is still chained in that yard. Sasha will come with whatever supplies you need including food, toys, a crate, and support. We just need a safe and loving place for her to land after such a traumatic life.
