Hi, my name is Ben and I'm raising money to help support my cousin Sara's medical care, rehabilitation, and living expenses as she recovers from traumatic domestic violence that almost took her life. She is now going to be a single mom with 3 young kids as she heals from multiple surgeries and a leg amputation.

 

While driving down I5 together, her ex became aggressive and violent toward Sara. He stopped the vehicle and yanked her out onto the side of the highway. Sara was then tragically assaulted by her ex-husband when he hit her with his Suburban ramming her though a metal guard rail on the side of I5.

 

Sara was rushed to a Redding hospital with injury to both legs and in critical condition where she was placed in a medically induced coma.

 

Sara underwent a 6 hour surgery to try and save her leg that had lost blood flow and suffered extensive nerve damage. Unfortunately the surgery was not successful and the doctors had to amputate her leg in order to save her life.

 

Sara is now stable and out of critical condition but has a long road ahead of her as she moves on from here. She will be in a physical therapy/rehab center while she recovers. She will need financial support for her and her children as they relocate close to the rehabilitation center. Thankfully the children were not present during the incident. They are safe and with family while Sara is in the hospital.

 

Sara is a survivor with a fighting spirit. She is looking forward to creating a new life for her and her kids where they all can be safe and thriving.
