Pay for Sara's funeral arrangements

Update: Unfortunately, Sara passed away surrounded by her loved ones on January 6, 2025.

Two days before Thanksgiving, my 40-year-old niece, Sara Cardenas, was diagnosed with metastatic stage 4 colon cancer. Before treatment was able to begin, Sara developed blood clots, and one traveled to her brain, causing a stroke which led to emergency brain surgery. While recovering from the stroke/brain surgery, she developed HIT, which means she immediately had to be taken off all blood thinners, which developed into a severe GI bleed. Due to her hemoglobin and blood platelet levels being critically low, she has been receiving blood and platelet transfusions almost daily.

Sara is a wife, mother of 2, and a special education teacher at Nitro High School. All of the financial burden is on her husband due to the fact she didn’t have short or long-term disability, causing her husband to use almost all of his sick leave and personal days to help care for Sara.

100% of the funds received will be donated to help with medical and finances. If you are unable to donate, prayer is the most important thing right now.
