Hi,
My name is Sarah, and I'm reaching out for help as I prepare for double jaw surgery that I urgently need.

As a teenager, I had braces, but unfortunately, my jaw continued to grow after they were removed. Now, as an adult, I have a painful crossbite that's steadily getting worse. Lately, it’s becoming exhausting to talk for long periods, certain foods are difficult to eat, and my jaw has started clicking throughout the day. The pain has become a constant part of my life—and it’s only getting harder to manage.

My husband and I both work full time, and we’re doing everything we can to stay on top of our family’s needs. But between the cost of the surgery ($6,500) and the braces I need beforehand ($3,194), we just can’t afford it on our own. To make things even harder, this type of procedure falls into a gray area between medical and dental insurance, and my surgeon isn’t sure how much—if any—will be covered.

If left untreated, my condition could cause permanent damage to my jaw and molars. Over time, I might also face breathing issues that could seriously affect my quality of life. This surgery is not just for relief—it’s to prevent more serious health problems in the future.

My husband and I are parents to an amazing little boy who has overcome hypotonia and is managing a rare autoimmune disease. He requires ongoing care, visits to specialists, and regular procedures under anesthesia. We both work full time, but much of our income goes directly to his medical needs and early childhood education. While we’re incredibly grateful to be able to support him through all of this, it does mean that there’s very little left over to take care of my own health needs.

My orthodontist estimates it will take about three months to prepare my teeth for surgery, so I’m hoping to raise funds now in order to being the process.

Every donation, no matter how small, would bring me one step closer to living without daily pain—and protecting my long-term health.

If you’re not in a position to donate, I completely understand. Even sharing this campaign would mean the world to me. Thank you so much for reading, and for your support during this incredibly difficult season of life.

With gratitude,
Sarah
