Supporting Sarah as We Honor Hezekiah’s Life

Over the past weeks, many of you have walked closely with our family as we welcomed and then said goodbye to sweet Hezekiah “Kai.” Your prayers, messages, and love have carried us through some of the most sacred and difficult moments of our lives. Kai was born early at just 1 lb. 8 oz. and fought bravely during his time in the NICU. Though his life here was brief, he was deeply loved and has already left a lasting imprint on our hearts.

On March 3rd at 10:59 p.m., surrounded by love and prayer, Kai peacefully transitioned from our arms into the arms of Jesus.
Since then, many of you have asked how you can support Sarah and our family. Your prayers continue to mean the most, and we are deeply grateful for the community that has surrounded us.
Several people have asked for a practical way to help during this time, so we have created this page for anyone who feels led to support these needs.

There are also several practical needs that have come with this season.
1. Sarah is currently recovering from an unexpected C-section and is not able to return to work right now. This has created an unplanned interruption in income during an already challenging time. Financial support will help fill the gap.

2. At the same time, Sarah and her sisters are in the process of moving into a home together. Preparing for that transition while physically recovering and grieving the loss of Kai has been difficult. Financial support will help with moving costs.

3. There are also unexpected expenses connected to preparing to honor the end of Hezekiah’s life here on earth. Financial support will assist with funeral home expenses.

4. Before Kai was born, Sarah and her sisters intentionally chose a home that included a room for him. Though his time here was short, Sarah still desires for that space to reflect the impact his life has had.
They plan to dedicate that room as “Kai’s Korner,” a small prayer room in the home. This will be a space set apart for prayer, reflection, and growing in the faith and dependence on the Lord that Kai’s life has already highlighted. Creating this space will include simple furnishings and meaningful pieces that help establish it as a quiet place of prayer. Financial support will help create the space to honor our sweet boy.

5. Many have also asked about providing meals. Because Sarah has celiac disease and must be strictly gluten-free, preparing meals can be difficult for those wanting to help. Gift cards for food or meal delivery are especially helpful so Sarah and her sisters can purchase or order food that works safely for her dietary needs while she recovers. Gift cards to restaurants, meals, and DoorDash cards will help feed the girls during the recovery and moving time.

Please know that your presence, prayers, and love have already meant more than we can express. Your support helps ease some of the practical burdens while Sarah and our family take time to grieve, heal, and honor Kai’s life.
Thank you for loving Kai and for standing with us.

With deep gratitude,
