Support Sarah's House: Safe Haven for Survivors
Donation protected
Sarah’s House is an emergency shelter that provides a safe haven for individuals and families, especially those that are fleeing a domestic violence situation. Our mission at New Beginnings - Sarah's House is to be a community resource and safely bring victims of domestic violence and homelessness toward self-sufficiency.
Located in an older facility that was once a nursing home, Sarah's House has become a vital resource in our community, offering shelter, support, and essential services to those in crisis. The building’s age has led to significant wear and tear on its plumbing systems, resulting in frequent leaks, backups, water damage, and disruptions to our essential services. These plumbing issues pose safety concerns and hinder our ability to provide a safe and dignified environment for those who rely on our shelter, thus becoming a barrier to our mission of providing safe housing and support for survivors of domestic violence.
Without immediate intervention, we risk losing critical bed space, which would compromise client safety, and jeopardize the trauma-informed environment we work tirelessly to provide. Your support in funding this project restores a safe, functional space for survivors who have already endured unimaginable trauma and ensures that our residents can focus on rebuilding their lives without the added stress of plumbing-related concerns. With your support, Sarah’s House can continue to offer stability, healing, and hope to those rebuilding their lives.
The total cost of these imperative plumbing repairs is $175,000. While Sarah’s House has already secured some of this critical funding to mitigate the expenses of these crucial repairs, we are still lacking and therefore reaching out to our community and those who are in alliance with our mission. We are hoping to raise a balance of $100,000 through this GoFundMe page.
Thank you for considering this urgent and deeply impactful request. Together, we can ensure that Sarah’s House remains a sanctuary for those who need it most.
