Hi, my name is Lara, and I’m fundraising for my sister Sarah. She is a vibrant, funny, and loving 44-year-old who has always been a fighter. She loves her career, cooking, and spending time with her spouse, family, and friends.
In June 2025, Sarah underwent a hysterectomy, expecting it to resolve what doctors thought was a fibroid. Instead, the pathology revealed a rare and aggressive cancer: High-Grade Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma. This type of cancer is fast-moving, has already spread, and carries a high risk of returning. Her doctors told her that pushing for earlier surgery may have saved her life.
Sarah now faces months of intensive chemotherapy, including the “Red Devil,” one of the harshest treatments with severe side effects and risks. She is currently on medical EI, earning less than half her income, while her spouse struggles to balance work, caregiving, and the financial strain of medical costs and time off work. Sarah’s partner and main support person is self employed.
Sarah would never ask for help herself, so I’m asking on her behalf. Any contribution—big or small—will go directly toward easing the financial burden of treatment, medical supplies, and living expenses while she fights for her life. Even sharing this page makes a difference.
Sarah has always been there for others. Now it’s our turn to rally around her. Thank you for your love, generosity, and support in this fight.
