Dear Friends, Family, and Those of You Who Sarah's Story Was Shared With-
This year marks the beginning of a long and difficult battle between my beloved wife Sarah & MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
By the end of January, Sarah had already begun experiencing health concerns and symptoms outside of the chronic migraines she has battled with for many years. That and the normal amount of wear and tear from years dedicated to a career in healthcare.
Although there may have been tough or unpleasant times, normally there is no obstacle or opportunity too big for Sarah. Not much can withstand her perseverance, or stand in the way of her drive and her charisma.
The aches and pains from scanning patients were tough but manageable. The migraines too were long ago identified and, for the most part, manageable with the right prescriptions, downtime, and recovery.
*Until this year, when medically we felt like there were more and more questions than answers: The symptoms worsened, and her immune system declined at a rate that was alarming. The blurry/double vision and the abnormal amount of fatigue became too much to handle, forcing her to take a leave of absence from work.
Something was seriously wrong, and the stress & anxiety of the unknown started to take its toll.
As the muscle spasms, stiffness, and soreness intensified, we exhausted all options and still weren't any closer to figuring out what exactly we were up against.
That is until late one evening, anxiety and tremors struck Sarah unlike anything before..
So we made our way to the Emergency Room.
A CT scan was enough to cause concern, and then an MRI revealed our biggest fear - there were lesions in her brain and on her spine.
This news, along with the uphill battle we have fought up until this point, has been devastating.
Sarah has been unable to work since the beginning of the year when symptoms began to force her to step away from over a decade in healthcare. As we proceed with testing, consultations, and developing a treatment plan that will work with her weakened immune system, she will be unable to work. And as time progress unable to go about normal everyday activities as she knew before.
While we navigate our course of action and the correct treatment plan alongside our neurologist; we have decided that it is safer that she remain out of the driver's seat of a vehicle.
So as we move forward, my hope and prayer is to do anything and everything in my power to provide the care my wife not only so desperately needs but deserves.
Donations will go towards offsetting her living expenses, creating an opportunity for her husband to take on the role of her caretaker without the fear of falling behind financially, towards doctor’s visits, lab work, treatment, and post-treatment medications.
More than anything, we want Sarah to focus on healing rather than worrying about finances. And we need your help to do just that.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will help give Sarah the best chance at reclaiming her life and going through this uphill battle with a fighting chance.
Your support, whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing this fundraiser with others, means the world to us. Thank you for standing with us in this fight!
