Support Sarah's Fight Against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

Hi everyone!

Many of you know Sarah Gore (Knorr) as family or a dear friend. Some of you may know her as Dr. Gore, as she practiced at Clarkson Eyecare for 2 years, Washington University Ophthalmology for nearly 7 years, and is now helping our servicemen and women at Scott Air-Force Base. Sarah has been an optometric physician for many years helping patients, and now she is in need of help.

In December, Sarah was diagnosed with a large mediastinal mass suspicious for malignancy. After a grueling diagnostic process filled with many expensive procedures, multiple biopsies and complications, she was finally given a definitive diagnosis in February- Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Sarah is strong and ready to fight this diagnosis being the WARRIOR she is, however with this diagnosis comes unforeseen medical expenses that she and her family hadn't planned for. Unfortunately, in effort to reduce her student loan payment in the fall, Sarah switched to a high deductible insurance plan one month prior to her shocking diagnosis. Then to add insult to injury, the government does not offer short term disability. This means everyday she is unable to work she is not getting paid. Due to chemo-related illness, currently Sarah has only been able to work about 20 hours per week. So, on top of mounds of medical bills she is making 50% of her normal pay.

We have started a GOFUNDME where our goal is to help relieve a little of the financial burden that comes with all necessary medical treatment required with this diagnosis. This battle is one that has already proven to be expensive and any amount of donation is greatly appreciated.
